Thanks for the Birthday Wishes!!

Hey y'all! :)

First off, thank you all so much for all of the birthday wishes! I´m not going to lie, it put a huge smile on my face to see my inbox so full of emails. Glad to know you guys haven´t forgotten about me! ;) Haha but I love you all, and thanks again!

So anyway, this week has been pretty good! Daniela got baptized on Saturday, and it was a really great service. She was so happy, it was so great to see!

But then there´s Carlos... :P His baptismal service was scheduled for this Saturday at 7:00 PM, and when we visited him on Friday, he was super excited and ready to go. But when we called him a couple of hours before the baptism, his wife answered and said he had gotten called into work and she didn´t know when he´d be back. UGHHH. So we went to his house to wait for him hoping he´d get home in time, but we ended up having to cancel his baptism. :( I swear, Satan somehow must tell the bosses of our investigators to call them in to work right before their baptisms, because that has happened a ridiculous number of times here in the mission.

So instead of having a baptism, we sat on the curb outside of Carlos´s house for about an hour and a half hoping he would get home in time while my companion beat-boxed and I improvised an original song titled "We Hate You Satan". Haha so he got home at about 8:30, and he told us he´s not sure if he can get baptized because his boss told him he now has to work Sundays. BLAAHHHH. It´s so frustrating because he is SO GOLDEN. I swear everyone in Guatemala would get baptized if they´d just quit their jobs. But that´s alright, we´re going to keep working with him, and hopefully we´ll see a miracle with his work!

We are also teaching a teenage boy named Mario who is super awesome! He´s been to church twice and loves it, and he wants to be baptized, the only problem is that he needs permission from his parents. His mother passed away, and his dad lives in the United States, so Mario lives here with his grandma. We talked to her and she said she doesn´t want to give permission without first talking to the dad, but it´s hard for them to communicate with him. But she said they´re going to try to call him even though he never answers, and we´re praying for a miracle there too!

Thanks so much for everything guys! I love you all!

Daniela´s Baptism!

My zone leader Elder Godinez...he´s literally the funniest kid ever to be born. Wish you could meet him.

From mom: Here's the video we sent to Dylan for his birthday. It's been 8 weeks since I sent his b-day package and he hasn't got it :( At least he had a good laugh.
