3 + 3

Hi everyone!

This week was super great! I feel like we had a lot of great experiences, and my testimony has been strengthened a ton.

I had one great experience this past Wednesday. We did exchanges with some zone leaders, and I went with another missionary to an appointment in his area. We taught a lady who was about twenty years old, and a twelve year-old boy who was a little bit special also joined in to hear the lesson. We taught The Restoration, and it all went super well. When we got to the point to talk about the Book of Mormon and I pulled a copy of the book out of my bag, the little boy gasped in awe and started telling the lady we were teaching "Look at the book!" very excitedly. From what we knew, he´d had no past experience with the church, so this was the first time he had seen a Book of Mormon. Even though he didn´t know much about it, he could tell it was something special. That made me appreciate much more the Book of Mormon and realize just how amazing it is!

We´ve also been having a bit more success in our own area! On Friday we started out having a fairly difficult day. We´d contacted for about an hour without much success, and we went to visit a partial member family where the father of the family didn´t feel like attending us. We were a bit frustrated, but we decided to something called 3+3. When an appointment falls through, we contact the three houses (the one on the left, the one on the right, and the one across the street) and we talk to three people on the street. We went to the house on the left, and it turned out that our 3+3 ended there! We met two guys about our age named Luis and Jefferson. We taught them The Restoration, and it turned out that they were super prepared! Jefferson told us that he has always asked himself which church is true, but he´s never found the answer. They´re so awesome! They went to church for the first time yesterday, and we know they´re going to progress!

Well, that´s about all for this week! We´re preparing for the visit of a Seventy, Elder Zeballos, next week. So that´s pretty exciting!

I love you all!

-Elder Thomas
